Frequently Asked Questions about our Portrait Photography:

Q: How do I book a portrait session with MAYA Photographic Studio (MAYA)?
A: First, you need to check our availability. We are usually available Monday – Friday or on the weekends. However, we might have weddings or other jobs already booked especially for Saturdays. Always check by email or by phone and we will do our best to find some available date.

Q: How early should I book MAYA for a portrait session?
A: Basically any time, but  preferably 2-3 weeks in advance, in case that there are some conflicting days.

Q: Is the portrait session done on location or in the studio?
A: Majority of our clients prefer to have their portraits done on location, however it can be done also in our studio.

Q: What does it mean “Portrait Session on Location”?
A: It means that you pick the place where you want your pictures taken. Be it inside your house, backyard, park or any location of your choice where the photography is allowed.

Q: What if it is raining or windy?
A: If it is outside, we can always reschedule it, however the new date must not be conflicting with our schedule. Or we can do it in our studio, it is up to you.

Q: What is the best clothing to wear?
A: Basically anything that you like and feel comfortable wearing, however try to avoid any stripes, labels, strong reflective colors and excessive jewelry. If you want pictures taken of the whole family, it is best that all the family members wear the similar clothing at least in terms of colors, for example blue jeans and white shirt is a very good combination for modern look. Generally, wearing similar or the same clothing looks better and anybody, who is looking at your family picture gets the message that the people on the photograph belong together.

Q: How long it takes to do the portrait session?
A: Usually we are done within a hour. It really depends, how many people and different combinations you like us to photograph. 

Q: How long it takes MAYA to setup the equipment?
A: If outside, it takes us about 5 mins to get ready.  If we are shooting inside your house, we bring our lighting equipment with us and it take us about 5-15 minutes to setup everything (backdrop & 2-3 lights) .

Q: What happens after the portrat session?
A: Within 2-3 weeks after the session, we will send you an email with the client gallery weblink and password. Also in the same email, you will receive you “Print Credit” discount code.

Q: What other products do you offer besides just prints?
A: We can get your prints framed at very competitive prices. You have to come to our studio to pick the frame and mat. We also offer Museum quality Gallery Canvases and albums. We are constantly expanding our product range.

Q: How long is my gallery active and print credit valid?
A: Your gallery and print credit is active and valid for 30 days, beginning the day you received email with the link, password and print credit code.

Q: Can I extend the gallery after 60 days period?
A: Yes you can, however it costs $25/mnth for every additional month of extension.
